Hometown: Anderson, Indiana
Favorite Food: Dessert. Any kind. Seriously…I could eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Haha! Oh and popcorn.
Favorite Athlete or Fitness Inspiration:
One of my biggest fitness inspirations is Emily Hayden. I started following her when I started my fitness journey and when I started competing. She is so genuine and shows that hard work pays off. She works so incredibly hard day in and day out regardless of how hard things are in her life. She always keeps it real and I love that.
Singing! I love to sing. Growing up I was always in choir and I was in show choir. I also love to cook/ bake. I mainly cook for myself now, but I used to always cook for my family. Lastly, I love to be outside! I love the water and being in the sun. It’s my goal to live close to the ocean someday.
What’s your go-to pump up song at the gym?
Ah, now this is a tough one. I love so many different kinds of music! My go-to songs are always changing. As for right now it would have to be Money Problems by Bryson Tiller, Around the World by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, or something by Future.
What are three interesting facts about you?
1. Before I started lifting I was an avid runner. I ran half marathons. Those were the best 13.1 miles ever.
2. I gave up pop for a New Year’s resolution when I was a sophomore in high school and still to this day I don’t drink it!
3. I know I said I like a lot of music, but I will always say that Coldplay is my favorite band. I have loved them since middle school.
What is your greatest achievement and how has it shaped you?
Looking back, I could say that graduating with my Bachelor’s degree was my greatest achievement, but truly I think it’s something else. In February 2016, I finally decided to compete in my first ever bikini competition. If you knew me before any of this, you would know that I was pretty shy and never really wanted to be in the spotlight. I decided to try it out and see what would happen. So, I stepped on stage for the first time in June 2016. I ended up taking 1st place in two of my classes and 2nd place in my third class. I was shocked! I did not expect it at all. I say that is my greatest achievement not because of the placing. The placing truly doesn’t matter. It is because I decided to do something outside of my comfort zone. From that one small decision, SO many life changing things have come from it. I discovered something I’m truly passionate about that excites me and makes me want to do more and BE more! It made me come out of my shell and have CONFIDENCE (something I never had before). It showed me something I was good at because I never truly felt “good” at something. I ultimately found my calling and what I want to do with the rest of my life. I found the true me.
If you could master one skill you don’t have right now, what would it be?
Wakeboarding! I absolutely love boating and being on the water. I’ve tried wakeboarding before, but it definitely takes practice!
